ContactsBook: Moving the tabs All / Search / Uncategorized to the bottom

Normally, the "All," "Search," and "Unclassified" tabs are at the top, but you can move them under the group tabs.
This feature was added in version 1.2.

Moving the tabs All / Search / Uncategorized to the bottom

Press and hold the tab to open the "Edit Tab" window. Change the "Place Tab At Bottom" switch to on.


Now that tab will be at the bottom of the groups.


ContactsBook: Hide Tabs

"Search," "Unclassified," and Group tabs can be set to not display the tab.
This feature was added in version 1.2.

Hiding a tab

Press and hold the tab to open the "Edit Group" screen. Change the "Hide Tab" to switch on.


When you are finished editing the group, the tab will be hidden.


To show a hidden tab

To see the hidden tab again, tap the Settings button on the lower left and choose "Groups" ("Search" and "Unclassified" are in the "Default Tabs" menu).


This displays a list of groups. Groups that are hidden are grayed out. Select the group you want to see again and turn off the "Hide Tab" switch.


Tab will be displayed again.


ContactsBook: Using text for a group icon

You can create an icon using text such as letters or numbers.

1. To create an icon from a letter

Press and hold the Group tab to open the Edit Group screen and select "Icon Image."


Choose "Create with Text" and then type the letter. It is best to only use one or two characters.


Tap "Done" to exit the group editor. The icon will have been changed.

1. Changing the Order of the Groups

To change the order of the Groups tabs, tap the Settings button and then select the "Groups" menu.


Tap the "Delete and Change Order" button on the bottom. Then you will be able to delete by tapping the button on the left or change the order by dragging the three bar icon on the right. 


When you exit the setup screen, the new order of the Groups tabs will be shown. 


ContactsBook: Changing the settings or deleting a group

Once a group has been created, you can press and hold the group tab to open the "Edit Group" screen. To change the order of the Groups tabs, you will have to use the settings screen.

1. Changing the settings of a group

Press and hold the "Groups" tab to open the Edit Group screen.


Please change the icons and colors as you did when creating the group. 


2. Deleting a group

Please press and hold the group to be deleted. In the Edit Group screen, please tap the "Delete Group" button.


After confirmation, the group will be deleted.

ContactsBook: Deleting contacts

When a contact is deleted, it is removed completely from the application (please note that it cannot be recovered).

Tap the "Edit" button and check the contact you want to delete. You can delete multiple contacts at once but the most you can delete at one time is limited to five for safety reasons (as of 1.3, you can remove this restriction in Settings / General). Please check the contacts you want to delete.


Tap the Delete button on the bottom right and confirm the action. 


Contact has been removed. Please exit the edit mode by tapping the "Done" button.

ContactsBook: Searching for contacts

You can search for contacts using the name, telephone number, e-mail address, organization name, or notes.

1. To find a contact

To find a contact select the "Search" tab and enter the keyword you wish to search.


The results when you search by name and organization name.


The results when you search by notes and phone numbers.


After a search, you can send an e-mail based on the search results or simply add the contact to a group by dragging and dropping.

ContactsBook: Changing the appearance of a contact (displaying organization name and photo)

You can choose whether to display the organization name and photograph by changing the contact display format. 

1. Showing the organization name and photograph

To change the contact display, tap the second button from the left on the bottom toolbar.


"Name/Org./Photo" is the default setting.


2. To display the organization name (no photo)

To hide photos, select "Name/Organization."


3. Displaying only the name

Select "Name" to hide organization name and photos. Since the line width becomes narrower, this improves how many contacts can be seen on-screen.

ContactsBook: Changing the order of contacts

The contacts are usually ordered by name but you can rearrange the list by Organization / Color / Creation Date / Birthday / or you can use "Drag and drop" to create your own Custom list.

1. Arranged by Organization

In order to change the order of the contacts, tap the center button on the toolbar. Choose "▼Organization" in the "List Sort Type" menu.



Organization names will be sorted in alphabetical order. If you have used Chinese characters, they will not be sorted correctly.

2. Arranged by color

Choose "▼Color" to sort the contacts by color.

3. Arranged by Creation Date

Contacts are arranged in descending order of the date they were added to the address book. This is useful when looking for recently added contacts. 


4. Arranged by Birthday

Contacts are arranged in descending order of birthdays. 


5. Arranging using Custom lists

You can rearrange the order of contacts using the "▼Custom" menu choice along with drag and drop. The order will be recorded for each group. First, choose a group to sort.


 First, select the "▼Custom" option.


Change the order of the contacts by dragging and dropping. 



For example, you can order a group by age or put the contacts you use the most at the top.
